Job Title: Business Development Manager (Finance & Corporate Services)
Date Joined: August 2006
I've held three positions since joining the SSAT in 2006 all of which I've enjoyed and have brought their own challenges.
The best thing about working here is the people and the variety of work. It's a very dynamic organisation where you can
really contribute and influence the way things are done. I joined as a Project Officer which gave me great hands on
experience of managing a project. I then became a Project Manager where I oversaw several projects and extended my
skills through exposure to new aspects of business. I now work in the Business Development Team collaborating with
colleagues throughout the organisation to enhance current work and develop new opportunities. I continue to be
challenged on a daily basis.

Job Title: Project Manager (Leadership & Innovation Networks)
Date Joined: October 2005
I joined the SSAT in September 2004 as the Regional Administrator in Taunton. The role was diverse and exciting and
allowed me to work with many different areas within the LIN directorate. One of these areas was leadership. My role
quickly developed into a Project Officer position, supporting the introduction and development of the suite of leadership
programmes offered by the SSAT. I am now a Project Manager for the Leadership team which is a very interesting and
varied role. It is a great opportunity to be able to work with teachers in schools at all levels and to offer them
training & development opportunities to develop their careers. I get great satisfaction seeing them take back to
the classroom the ideas they have been introduced to on our programmes. I hope to develop my career further with the
SSAT and am looking forward to many new challenges.

Job Title: Project Officer (Specialism & Curriculum Networks)
Date Joined: November 2007
I came to the SSAT after working in Widening Participation in a higher education institution. I now work as the CPD Project
Officer in Specialism and Curriculum Networks. My role involves organising CPD events for a variety of school staff, and my
duties include liaising with speakers, venues and delegates; dealing with the logistical content of events, and overseeing
budgets. When I first arrived at the SSAT, I was immediately impressed by the professionalism of the organisation. I have
had the opportunity to cover other roles and join various working groups, including the marketing working group, Investors
in People and Data Protection, as well as participating in the SSAT mentoring programme. There are always opportunities to
have your say, and I feel that my role here is always throwing up new challenges and opportunities. So far, I have enjoyed
my time here and look forward progressing further.

Job Title: Project Manager (Academy Networks)
Date Joined: November 2007
I joined the SSAT as a Project Officer for the Academy Networks team in April 2006. What particularly appealed to me about
working with academies was that they serve some of the most disadvantaged areas in the country. I am fortunate to have had
great encouragement and support throughout my education and I feel very strongly that this should be the right of every
single child, regardless of their postcode. In January 2009, I was promoted to Project Manager within the same team. It is a
real privilege to be able to advance my career within an organisation that is having such a positive impact on schools and
the lives of the young people they work with, and this gives me a strong sense of job satisfaction.

Job Title: Senior Conference Coordinator (Communications)
Dated Joined: September 2005
I joined the SSAT in September 2005 as a Conference Coordinator, supporting the administration and management of the SSAT's
programme of events and conferences. From here I was successful in securing an acting up post as Senior Conference
Coordinator which has since becomes permanent. I now manage a small team of experienced Conference Coordinators; I am client
manager for the Communications and LIN Directorates and iNet and also enjoy offering training and advice about event
management to other colleagues at the SSAT. I deliver a wide range of events on behalf of the SSAT, including residential
conferences, awards presentations, dinners and the delivery of the growing portfolio of International events. What is
particularly rewarding about delivering the SSAT events is that you can directly see the positive impact our events have
on the delegates attending and in turn this positively impacts on young people's learning and development in our schools
and the environment in which they live.
